The first thing we noticed when Mr. J and his mommy walked in was his eyes.  They are so expressive, just gorgeous.  I have to admit, I have bounded with this little one.   He is soooo lovable, you just can’t help but cuddle with him (I could do so for hours).    What also amazes me is how much he has changed in just three months.  Look a few posts below this one and you’ll agree.    Thanks for bringing him back to us and we’ll see you all soon.

and, finally one for daddy.  Mom knows what we mean.

I am quite certain that if you have ever seen our blog, that you have seen this adorable family! This is Caitlin and Co.  and we have been photographing them for, well, a little over 18 months now! I adore this family, and was a little saddened by the wonderful news that they were given a great career opportunity that will require them to move out-of-state. They have found a wonderful new photographer (yes Ang, we checked, lol!) in their new town that we are confident will serve them well.

In the meantime, however, we got the chance to capture this family one last time before the move (although we would love a session with the new little one if you come back for a visit!)  Oh yeah…did we mention that Caitlin is going to be a big sister?!!!   We hope you enjoy the pics and we wish you the best on your new and exciting journey!

Love,

Melissa and Barb

As usual, the pictures are wonderful!! You have done a great job capturing Caitlin’s personality. We are going to miss you too ;(

Little Aaron finally made it back to us for his 1st birthday shoot.   Kristin, his mom, has an insane schedule and we had an impossible time scheduling a shoot date.  I think she’s the only one whose photographer says “just drop him off and I’ll give him back when I’m done playing with him”.   Aaron has three big sisters who are crazy dance and gymnastic fiends so mom and dad are all about the sports with this guy.  Everytime we’d yell “YAH!”, he’d fling his arms straight up in the air (check out the bday cake storyboard and you’ll see what I mean).  Thanks for letting us have him for the afternoon, he’s a real sweetheart.

I can’t believe Aaron is one already- These pictures are so awesome….We love them!!!!!!!!!!!!! Barb your amazing!!!!

Isabella came to us in the best mood ever!  The only problem we had with this little beauty was trying to get her to keep her tongue in her mouth.   No complaints though we still managed to get some good shots of her and she’s proving to be just as photogenic as her beautiful mommy.  Jenn & Alex thanks for bringing her back to us, here’s your sneak peek…

You may remember this adorable little one from a few months back.  Well, he is already 3 months old!  Love me the little one’s, and he is no exception.  Fortunately, although we had a few close calls, I was able to stay dry this time.   Mom and dad, we look forward to seeing you in a few months.  Hoping we can get some shots in those cool pajamas you brought.

Mr. Reggie is 3!

March 15, 2010

I’ve known Reggie for a long time.  I used to babysit his mom who also happens to be my cousin.  I know I am old!  Three can be a difficult age to shoot, but we still managed to get some good shots of Reg which, I think, really shows his personality.  Loved the time when his mom told me in looking at an older session of Reggie that you could visualize a halo around him instead of the horns that are usually there.   I think we managed to capture that elusive halo again!  Love this little  ”booger”.   Shell, thanks for bringing him back and, as always, it’s great to spend time with you….

Ms. Bryanna came to visit us again for round two of her senior session!   We got so lucky with this girl.   She is up for absolutely anything.   She requested a shoot in the snow and, ironically, it is something we have been waiting for the chance to do.   Thanks for giving us the opportunity and keep your fingers crossed for a clear, snowy evening in the very near future.   Here is your sneak peek!!

Stunning model and capture of the snow! Those are certainly senior images to be proud of.

We don’t normally do weddings, but when presented with the possibility of shooting our niece/cousin’s wedding there was no way we were going to say no.  The wedding was beautiful, the couple gorgeous (I’m biased, but it’s true), and everything about their special day was perfect.  Angie and Eddie are one of those couples that you know were destined to be together.  We are so happy to welcome Eddie into the family.  We hope you’re both enjoying your time in the Rockies.  Thank you so much for having faith in us. Here’s to your sneak peek and FOREVER:

We had a recent opportunity to shoot Blake for an indoor senior session.  We got so lucky!  Not only was he easy to photograph, he is one of those seniors who has it all together;  good looks, sports orientated and college bound.  Mom and Dad you did a great job!   I wish my niece lived closer so I could hook them up.   Blake, we’re excited about your snow shoot.  Hope you like your sneak peek:

Who are we?

January 8, 2010

In the post below, I made reference of the fact that the baby’s dad knew my brother.  This got me thinking about the time one of our clients walked into my home studio,  looked at me and said “I know you”.  She also knew one of my brothers.  D and I were talking about it and I remarked that if you graduated from a Taylor school anytime during the 80’s, chances are you would know my family.  So we decided to make a game out of it.  Here’s the hints:  We are a large Catholic family with 8 children (6 boys, 2 girls), the youngest is a Taylor cop, the 2nd youngest is an Allen Park cop.  Our last name isn’t McGuckin (everyone knows them), we aren’t even Irish!   The question is:  what is my family’s last name?  If you’re correct, and you were planning on booking a session with us, we’ll throw in a free 8×10 ($15.00 value).  Email us at mdphotography@ymail.com with your answer!  If you need a few more hints, comment below…
